The Girl Scout Gold Award

The Gold Award is the highest award for a Girl Scout to earn, and only 6% of eligible girls earn this award each year. The Gold Award project is required to take a minimum of 80 hours, must be sustainable, solve a problem in the community, including a leadership aspect and has to have an effect on a large range of people. It is a seven-step project that takes hard work and effort. The Gold Award is an asset when applying to colleges, makes you a stronger candidate for scholarships, starts you in military service a rank higher than others and makes your resume more attractive when applying for jobs.
