  1. Dandelion

    1. Eat from top to bottom

  2. Cattails

    1. Eat tips and white colored stalks at bottom

    2. Don’t eat the fiber, can cause stomach aches

  3. Wild Asparagus

    1. Look for dead stalks about 3 feet high, they like dry soil more

    2. Smaller stalks than normal

    3. Cut them as close to the ground as possible

  4. Milk Thistle

    1. These plants have purple flowers

    2. Leaves can be eaten and stalk boiled, roots can be boiled too.

    3. Be careful these plants are spiky and hurt when you touch them

  5. Clovers

    1. Very high in protein

    2. Don’t eat raw!

    3. Can be boiled to make tea

  6. Wild onions

    1. Like damp places

    2. If you are not sure if it is an onion or not then do not eat it!

  7. Bamboo

    1. High fiber content

    2. Can not be eaten raw

    3. Peel the outer leaves off, remove tough parts, cut them into â…› inch pieces then boil for 20 min, then they can be eaten

    4. When dried they can make great kindling for a fire

  8. Purslane

    1. Close to ground in shady areas

    2. Can be eaten raw

    3. Some restaurants use these

  9. Violets

    1. You can eat their leaves and flower

    2. Do not eat the stem or roots!

  10. Daylily

    1. Buds can be eaten, and the roots

    2. Try to not damage the stalk if you leave it more flowers can grow back

  11. Berries

    1. White, Red and Yellow berries can kill do not eat!

  12. If you are not certain then Do Not Eat!!!
